These are working standards rather than sentiments. Each one describes behaviour a participant, volunteer, partner or funder can hold us to.
Compassion
We listen before acting, respond to real needs, and treat people with care rather than pity. Compassion shows up in respectful communication, thoughtful program design, and attention to each participant’s experience.
Integrity
We communicate honestly, protect confidential information, manage resources responsibly, avoid conflicts of interest, and correct errors when they occur. We do not overstate results or claim services we did not provide.
Dignity
Participants are people with strengths, choices and goals — not promotional material. We use respectful language, obtain consent, protect privacy, and avoid photographs or stories that exploit hardship.
Inclusion
We make general programs accessible and welcoming to people from different backgrounds. We identify and remove unnecessary barriers, provide accommodation where reasonably possible, and clearly distinguish optional faith-based activities.
Excellence
We prepare carefully, use qualified people for specialised work, follow approved procedures, learn from feedback, and improve programs rather than relying on good intentions alone.
Stewardship
We use time, funding, donated goods, personal information and community trust responsibly. Donations are applied according to legal requirements, approved restrictions, and our charitable purposes.
Collaboration
Local communities understand their own needs. We work with participants, schools, service providers, businesses, faith communities and nonprofit partners rather than duplicating support that already exists.
Accountability
We report what was delivered, explain how results were measured, maintain appropriate records, and provide clear routes for questions, complaints and good-faith concerns.
