How to read these figures

Favored Generation operates through two separate legal entities, one registered in Canada and one in the United States. Each publishes its own report in its own currency.

Some activity counts, such as Hope Kits distributed, laptops provided and volunteers engaged, describe work carried out across the whole organization and therefore appear in both reports. Those counts describe the same activity and must not be added together. A single reconciled organization-wide dataset is in preparation and will be published on the impact pages once approved.

We do not describe financial information as audited. An audit is a specific engagement that produces an independent opinion. Where information was compiled rather than audited, the report says so.

Financial accountability

Favored Generation maintains records for donations, expenses, restricted funds, donated goods and program activity. Financial information is reviewed by the appropriate leadership and Board of each legal entity. Every public summary identifies the entity, the currency, the reporting period, and the level of external professional involvement.

Corrections

If you find an error in a published report, tell us. We will check it against our records, correct the report, note what changed, and republish it with a revision date. Corrected reports keep their original reporting year and entity.

Need a document we have not published?

Funders and partners often need financial detail or policy documents before they appear publicly. Ask us and we will tell you what exists, what is still in approval, and what we can share now.
