What this report covers

This report describes the programs, governance and financial activity attributed to Favored Generation’s Canadian entity for the year ended 31 December 2025. All figures are stated in Canadian dollars. Figures for the United States entity are reported separately and are not additive with these totals.

Message from the Board

2025 was a significant year of growth and community impact for Favored Generation. Through youth empowerment programs, mentorship initiatives, outreach projects and community events, we continued to create opportunities that support education, personal development and meaningful connections. Initiatives such as the Youth Impact program and large-scale community gatherings brought people together to encourage collaboration, leadership and positive change within underserved communities. We are grateful to every volunteer, donor and partner whose support made it possible to expand our reach during the year.

Program highlights

B.O.W. Abuja, 24 February 2025

Favored Generation hosted a gathering in Abuja that brought together music leaders, creatives, young people and community members from several cities. The event combined music, mentorship conversations and community engagement activities, and encouraged collaboration and personal growth among participants.

B.O.W. Toronto, 17 May 2025

Favored Generation hosted a community gathering in Toronto for music leaders, creatives, young people, volunteers and attendees from different cities and backgrounds. The event provided space for music, reflection, mentorship conversations and community connection. It was supported by community partnerships including Chick-fil-A, JD Best and The Joy Center, which assisted with hospitality and coordination.

Youth Impact Laptop Program

Nine laptops were provided to students and young people in 2025. The program supports education, digital access and skill development by equipping recipients with tools needed for study and work.

Thrive Community Hub

In 2025 the Hub continued to operate as a centre for community support, youth engagement and personal development, reaching over 450 individuals and families across the United States and Nigeria. Activity during the year included:

  • Distribution of over 200 Hope Kits containing food supplies, hygiene products and essential care items to families experiencing hardship.
  • Over 20 virtual youth and young adult renewal gatherings focused on connection, reflection, leadership development and peer encouragement.
  • Engagement of more than 180 volunteers contributing over 2,500 combined service hours.
  • Support for 25 students and young creatives through mentorship, leadership coaching and educational resources.
  • Three community outreach events and gatherings.
  • Expansion of international outreach through partnerships with local organizations and volunteers.

Compilation of financial information

Based on information provided by management, the Statement of Financial Position as at 31 December 2025, the Statement of Activities for the year then ended, the Statement of Cash Flows and the Notes to the Financial Statements were compiled by Ayotope Oderinde-Ojo, CPA, CMA, dated 24 June 2026.

Management is responsible for the accompanying financial information, including the accuracy and completeness of the underlying information used to compile it and the selection of the basis of accounting. The engagement was performed in accordance with Canadian Standard on Related Services (CSRS) 4200, Compilation Engagements. A compilation engagement is not an audit or a review, and no assurance opinion is expressed on this information.

Basis of accounting

  • Accounting policies follow Canadian accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations (ASNPO).
  • Donations and contribution receipts are recognized as they are received. In-kind donations are valued at fair market value with supporting documentation.
  • The organization is a registered charitable organization and is exempt from income tax.
  • No remuneration was paid to officers or directors.

Registration and incorporation

Favored Generation began operating as a not-for-profit organization in Canada on 5 January 2024, was incorporated on 6 May 2024, and was registered as a Canadian charitable organization on 11 September 2024. Canada registration number 77678 9620 RR0001.

Board approval

Approved on behalf of the Board on 25 June 2026 by Dr. Peter Haastrup, Board Chair, and Tobechukwu Madu, Director.

Looking ahead: 2026 priorities

In 2026 Favored Generation intends to expand community outreach, deepen youth mentorship, and develop partnerships with public and private sector organizations. The focus remains on sustainable programs supporting education, personal development, community wellness and connection among young people and families.
