Stories shared with permission and told with dignity

Participant stories explain what a program meant in real life. To be published here, a story has to be accurate, voluntary, respectful, and tied to a verified program and reporting year.

Why this page is currently empty

We have participant accounts from 2025, and we are not publishing them yet. Each one needs documented written consent from the person it describes, and photograph approval where a photograph is used. Until that paperwork exists, the stories stay unpublished.

This is a deliberate choice. A story published without consent is a story taken from someone, and no amount of positive framing fixes that.

Our standards

What every published story must carry

Nine things, every time. If any one is missing, the story does not go up.

Program and location

Which program the person took part in, and where.

Reporting year

The year the experience happened, so an old story is never read as current.

Experience and support

What the participant experienced, and what support was actually provided.

Result or next step

What changed, or what the person plans to do next.

Consent status

Documented written consent, confirmed before publication.

Changed details

Whether the name or identifying details were changed to protect privacy, stated openly.

Method

First person and third person

First person

Used when the participant has given a written account in their own voice and approved it for publication. Between 100 and 250 words, covering the practical barrier they faced, the support provided, what they did with it, and what comes next.

Third person

Used when privacy must be protected, when the information comes from program records, or when the participant has not written a direct account. A factual summary with no invented quotations.

We never publish a child’s school, full name, precise address, health details or family circumstances unless there is a clear, approved reason to do so.

Faith-based testimonies belong on the Bringing Our Worship page or a clearly identified faith-based resource page. They do not appear in the organization-wide impact section, because general impact reporting should describe practical outcomes.

Took part in a program and want to share your experience?

Get in touch and we will walk you through the consent process before anything is written down for publication. You can change your mind at any point, including after you have agreed.

Stories from children and young people go through a separate consent process involving a parent or guardian. We do not collect them through a public form.
