Space to learn, connect, reflect, and move forward

Renewal Gatherings are facilitated small-group or community sessions supporting personal development, practical learning, emotional wellbeing, resource sharing and social connection.

Important · What this program is not

Renewal Gatherings are not therapy

These sessions are not therapy, counselling, medical treatment or crisis services — unless a specific session has been formally designed and is delivered by appropriately qualified professionals, in which case we say so explicitly for that session.

We make no clinical claims about these gatherings. If you need clinical care, we would rather refer you properly than have you rely on a community session that was never designed for it.

The need

Why these sessions help

People benefit from safe, structured opportunities to build relationships, learn practical skills, talk through everyday challenges, and connect with useful resources. Social isolation, limited access to supportive networks, and simple uncertainty about what services exist all make those opportunities harder to find.

What a gathering may include

Life skills and goals

Life-skills sessions and practical goal-setting.

Career and money

Career-readiness and financial-literacy information.

Wellbeing education

Wellbeing education and healthy coping strategies, within the limits set out above.

Creative and discussion

Creative activities and guided discussion.

Peer connection

Peer connection and sharing of local community resources.

Optional

Faith-based reflection

Clearly identified and entirely optional where it is offered. Declining never affects your place in the session.

Delivery

How each gathering is run

Before a gathering runs, we identify the facilitator, the topic, the learning purpose, the schedule, the venue or online platform, the accessibility arrangements, the privacy expectations, and the route for a participant who needs additional support.

Facilitation limits

Facilitators stay within their role. They do not apply pressure, do not invite public disclosure of private matters, respond appropriately to safeguarding or crisis concerns, and refer participants to qualified services when that is what is actually needed.

Audience, age range, location, eligibility, and whether a given series is general or faith-based are confirmed per gathering and stated when it is announced.

2025 · Reconciliation in progress

Results

The published 2025 reports both describe renewal gatherings and conversations, but the Canada and United States totals differ from one another. Rather than publish either number or add them together, we are establishing one verified figure.

That reconciled figure will distinguish general personal-development sessions from prayer or worship gatherings, so the two are never counted as the same activity.

What the program needs

Qualified facilitators. Accessible venues or online platforms. Learning materials. Participant transportation or childcare support where approved. Evaluation and follow-up resources.
