Youth Impact supports children, students and young adults through mentorship, leadership development, creative learning, education support, digital access and practical preparation for the future.
Why it matters
A device on its own is not a program
Young people need more than a one-time donation. They benefit from access to tools, trusted guidance, opportunities to practise skills, and follow-up that connects a resource to a clear educational or developmental purpose.
That is why every part of Youth Impact is tied to a stated learning goal, and why the laptop programme includes selection, consent and follow-up rather than a handover and a photograph.

Creative and educational learning
Workshops, projects, tutoring, resource sharing and skill-building activities tied to approved learning goals.
Digital access
Laptops, internet support where available, digital-literacy guidance and follow-up that help participants use technology for education, skills and future readiness.
Future readiness
Career awareness, goal setting, portfolio or application support, financial literacy, and introductions to educational or professional pathways.
Not a giveaway
The Youth Laptop Impact Program
The laptop initiative exists to reduce a documented digital-access barrier and support a specific educational or skill-development need. It is not a prize draw and it is not a giveaway.
How recipients are selected
- Age and location requirements
- Demonstrated need for a device
- Intended educational or developmental use
- Ability to take part in reasonable follow-up
- Parent or guardian consent where required
- Devices and program capacity actually available
Eligibility rule
Church participation is not an eligibility requirement
Church attendance, worship participation and endorsement from a church leader are not eligibility requirements for Youth Impact. Requiring them would exclude young people who need the support, which is the opposite of the program’s purpose.
A reference may come from a teacher, mentor, school, community organization, service provider, or any other approved adult who knows the applicant.
Follow-up
Follow-up may include confirming receipt and device condition, educational use, digital-skills participation, participant feedback, and agreed outcome questions. It is kept proportionate, and it protects the young person’s privacy.

Mentorship and learning participation counts, and six-month educational-use follow-up results, are being established. We would rather publish two verified figures than ten unverified ones.
Protection
Safeguarding in youth programs
Youth programs require age-appropriate consent, appropriate supervision, screened representatives where required, safe communication practices, and a clear process for raising concerns. Publicity consent is asked for separately from program consent — agreeing to take part is not agreeing to appear in our photographs.
One-to-one communication with a minor follows the approved safeguarding procedure. It is never informal or unrecorded.
Support digital access
New or professionally refurbished laptops. Device setup, software, warranty and security. Internet or data support where approved. Digital-literacy sessions. Mentors, facilitators and learning materials. Follow-up and evaluation.
